Put onions and mushrooms on bottom of crockpot. Place roast on top of veggies. Combine other ingredients and pour over the roast. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Can be refrigerated after it is done. When it cools, it is easy to remove any fat that has risen to the top and solidified. ![]() Ingredients:
Beat egg and add liquid. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form into loaf and place in shallow baking pan. Place a few cloves and bay leaf on top. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees for 1-½ hours. Serves 4-6. Variation: Meat mixture may be ½ beef, ¼ veal and ¼ pork. Brown the chopped onions in oil, add the ground beef and cook about 5 minutes. Add chili powder and taste until you have just the right amount of seasoning. Add other ingredients. In crockpot, stir together onion, tomato sauce, picante sauce, vinegar, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Stir in beef, garlic and beans. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Turn setting to low and cook for 5-6 hours. |
